Maybe you know it, maybe you don't, but jerboi CJ Tambornino won the best trick at Tampa Am after getting dead last the day before. Rumor has it that CJ was a bit jet-lagged after a trip back from South America straight to the contest (though you can only blame a long flight, not shifts in time zone), but I have a feeling it has more to do with him and certain dudes' (I'm looking at Nate Compher) scorched Earth-ish type policies when it comes to contest runs: You either destroy the run, or it destroys you. Congrats too to Luke Hampton, who placed second overall in the contest; if Moorhead were actually spelled "Morehead" like the SPOT dudes would have it, we'd all move there.

On misspellings and personally having a tough name to spell, Nike got CJ's name wrong, among a host of others that I did not note that vigorously. It has something to with my surname being spelled "Muzenrider" so many times that, well, I still care. Not that much though. To dropped "n's!"

I haven't said this yet: Thank goodness the NBA is back. If the Timberwolves even look 25 percent better than last year, I'm going to post about it. You've been warned.

Also, it's come to that time of year where I'm starting to think about drinking some beers and writing the 2011 Platty Awards. I'm putting out the call to crowd-source for the first time, so if you've got a nominee with an award in mind, leave it in the comments. It's essentially my rip-off of the T-Eddy Awards, FYI. I'm being lazy and not posting direct links to the past awards, but the Google search is so easy for them, I did it for you.

To riff on that Highlander thing from a post or two ago, if anyone wants to nominate someone for the laziest Platinumseagulls INC. intern ever, THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE! Have fun on your trip Kyle!
