Awesome post! Riverside Plaza (crackstacks) was the same style of urban planning and architecture. They used to be luxury apartments and what currently exists was supposed to be phase one of ten! There was almosst an entire neighborhood of crackstacks... imagine the skate spots!
Two things. The crackstacks fall under the architectural style known as Brutalism. Lots of University of Minnesota buildings fall under this ugly ass concrete style.
